The Rudolf Steiner School Mbagathi reaches the age of 30 years. We will celebrate this milestone. The theme of the Conference is ‘Being’ in movement, in education and life itself. The Conference will look at different aspects of being in movement and how it enriches education. Life is Movement.
We welcome lecturers from far: Troels Ussing and Paul Klarskov from Denmark, Ann Sharfman and Peter van Alphen from South Africa. Joan Sleigh from Switzerland, Ruth Thuku from Kenya and Kasmir Msigwa from Tanzania.
Workshops will be run by Primary and Kindergarten teachers from East Africa. The biodynamic workshop will be run by Ann and Rolf Bucher. Wednesday 17th April will be a day of celebration where we look back at the history of Waldorf/Steiner Education - the place of its birth in the world and in East Africa. Children will perform drama and movement and we will experience traditional dances from various parts of East Africa. All are welcome to enjoy this cultural day together. The language of drama, music and dance will speak to us visually and warm our hearts.
