The education professionals show clearly that every human being constantly changes and develops and that it makes sense if their development from birth to young adulthood is accompanied in a holistic way. Philipp Reubke, co-ordinator of the international Waldorf Kindergarten Movement says: “The objective of my work is not to change a child’s nappies. The objective is neither to show a five year old a very creative way to play. No, my aim is to educate a human being who takes her life into her own hands, who is integrated in society, who can change society.”
In the film we also hear Michal BenShalom, mentor of the Waldorf School in Harduf (Israel), Sigurd Borghs, head of the Michael School (Belgium), Florian Osswald, head of the Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum (Switzerland), Irina Ogorodova, lecturer at the Periodic Seminar (Russia) and Jyotsna Patnaik, lecturer at the Sloka Waldorf School (India).
The film was made by Waldorf Resources, a project of the International Forum for Steiner/Waldorf Education in cooperation with the Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum. The website offers teaching materials for schools, kindergartens and other educational services, related to questions such as, “how do I prepare a lesson for school or kindergarten? How do I prepare a parents’ evening? How can a school be managed cooperatively? and much more.
